The story and world building was immersive, helped by simplicity of gameplay. Not some famed hero, just a quiet fighter pilot doing your part in a hopeless situation. I doubt there has been anything pulling of the epic feat that was freespace, just many tries. Still playing FS2. Bought th e game on steam since cd-rom is a no go nowadays, and downloaded the opensource. <br />Still gorgeous and intense after so many years. Grew up with FS2. The great War (descent) was worthwhile for sure, but im not sure how to get that running.
